SURGICAL PATHOLOGY Because we specialize in women's health care, the majority of our surgical pathology cases are gynecologic and correlating Pap smear results are provided on biopsy reports when available. In addition to our on-site pathologists, we have direct access to pathologists within our group that are trained in many sub-specialities including: dermatopathology, hematopathology, cytopathology, molecular pathology, gastrointestinal/hepatic pathology, cardiac pathology, gynecologic oncology, blood banking/transfusion medicine, and breast pathology. This provides our clients with access to experts without the need for additional pathology consultation fees, significantly decreasing out-of-pocket expenses for patients. We have access to a wide array of immunohistochemical stains and specialized cancer testing such as FISH, ISH, HER2, molecular and flow cytometry. Non-Gyn cytology is offered through fine needle aspirations, brushings, washings, urine specimens, and breast smears. Routine specimens are examined, interpreted, and reported out within 24 hours of receipt in the laboratory. |
